'Media can play significant role in training of unemployed youth'

Media can play a significant role in training of unemployed youth in employable trades. Without its co-operation, it is difficult for Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) to provide job opportunities to unemployed youth.
Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said this while briefing senior journalists including Sohail Warriach, Saida Fazal, Raees Ansari, Zia Shahid, Salman Ghani, Esaar Rana, Choudhary Ghulam Hussain, Naveed Choudhary, Ahmad Waleed during their visit at TEVTA Secretariat on Thursday.
While giving his vision about development and performance, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that TEVTA is the premier body across the country in the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Sector, engaging the unemployed youth in employable skills.
TEVTA is offering demand driven courses in employable trades including hospitality, IT with Microsoft, Construction, Chinese Language and other state of the art skilled bases training programs across the province of the Punjab.
All courses have been offered with the involvement of concerned stake holders to get desired out comes.
Chairperson TEVTA further said that now it is the time that media should also create awareness about the technical education and vocational training across the country so that millions of jobless youth can acquire employable skills and secure their future.
He also said that it is high time that this huge youth bulge is equipped with employable skills. He asked the media persons to play their active participation in attracting the youth by giving them awareness to get training in TVET sector.
All the senior journalists also visited different labs at Government Technical Training Institute Gulberg and lauded the contributions of TEVTA to promote technical education and vocational training.
