Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 140,526 tonnes of cargo comprising 110,601 tonnes of import cargo and 29,925 tonnes of export cargo including 5,460 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 110,601 tonnes comprised of 46,783 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,035 tonnes of general cargo; 7,839 tonnes of bulk cargo and 53,944 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,925 tonnes comprised of 26,401 tonnes of containerised cargo; 324 tonnes of general cargo and 3,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 5,460 containers comprising of 2,530 containers import and 2,930 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 928 of 20's and 668 of 40's loaded while 64 of 20's and 101 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 840 of 20's and 376 of 40's loaded containers while 708 of 20's and 315 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were nine ships namely Alexandria Bridge, Hamgurg Bay, Al-Farahidi, MSC Imma, Prosper, MT Lahore, MT Quetta, Al Mahboobah and Oriental Queen carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Wide India, MSC Imma, Prosper, Vania, MT Lahore, Maistros, Fareast Hope, Hanne Danica and Oriental Queen carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer, and chemical respectively currently at the berths.
There are two ships namely Cosco Wellington and Newark carrying containers expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were two vessels viz. Newark and Northern Dependant carrying containers due to arrive on Monday while another vessel viz. Serengeti carrying mogas is due to arrive on Tuesday.

As many as 3,262 containers comprising of 1,838 containers import and 1,424 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were four ships namely CV Newark, CV Hermes, MT Globe Tanya and King Dorian sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MV Aal Bangkok carrying project cargo is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV MSC Cloudia, CV Newark, CV Hermes, CV YM Marinda, MV Aal Bangkok, MV Silver Hessa, MV Zlata, MT Globe Trader and MT King Dorian currently occupied berths to load/offload during the last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely CV Al-Safat, MV Thalassinl and MT M GAS carrying containers, general cargo and LPG were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were five vessels viz. CV Al-Safat, CV Al-Makhtarah, MV Thorco Manatee, MT White Purl and MT Ten carrying containers, project cargo, LPG and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
There was one ship namely MT North Gas carrying LPG due to arrive on Monday.
There are two ships namely CV Northern Magnum and CV Maersk Savannah carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
