A-1 Cars' plea: LHC issues notices to Transport Authority

The Lahore High Court on Friday restrained the respondents from any adverse action against ride sharing A-1 taxi and issued notices to Punjab Transport Authority and Chief Traffic Officer Lahore for February 20.
Petitioner Muhammad Rafique Shehzad through his counsel submitted that he was running a cab operating company with name A-1 Cars. He said he was facilitating the citizens according to the standard of international level cab service. He was regulated and licensed by mayor of London for this business. He also made undertaking that they are ready to meet with all legal requirements for getting license to operate cab service to operate private hire vehicles in Lahore but the government refused his offer saying that there is no codified law to regulate this service.
