04 Feb, 2017

Opposition in the Punjab assembly protested against the biased behaviour of the Speaker, saying that the government should change the Speaker otherwise it would not let the house proceedings operational.
Opposition leader Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that the Bank of Punjab has written of Rs 1.48 billion loans of PML-N favourites including the real brother of PML-N Lahore president Pervez Mali.
Speaker Punjab assembly intercepted him but later allowed him to speak on the request of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. It was followed by a strong protest from the PTI leader, saying that the speaker was following a dictation from Rana Sanaullah. The opposition benches also raised slogans against the Speaker on the occasion.
Later, Rana Sanaullah told the house that the bank has reduced rate of mark up. He said it was not true that the bank has written off loans.
