Chief of LOMTP body told to take care of special persons

Kh Ahmad Hassaan, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project (LOMTP) has directed for taking care of special persons and arranging dedicated provisions for catering to their requirements besides constructing ramps close to footpaths near stations of metro train for convenience of wheel chair using individuals.
Chairing the weekly progress review meeting, here, Wednesday, he directed for carrying out immediate repair of roads from Chouburji to Ali Town, area falling in Package II of the project, besides improving sanitation conditions along this stretch. He underlined the need for moving heavy machinery from one place to another under the supervision of traffic police to avoid untoward incidents.
Kh Ahmad Hassaan directed WASA officials for chalking out a comprehensive scheme for disposal of rain water from Depot at Dera Gujjran and stabling yard at Ali Town. He directed Chinese contractor CR-NORINCO for expediting electrical and mechanical work on the project. The meeting was informed that so far 61 per cent civil work of the project has been completed. Progress on package-I from Dera Gujjaran, G.T.Road to Chuburji was 75 per cent, on package-II from Choburji to Ali Town was 45.25 per cent, on Depot near Dera Gujran was 63.1 per cent while on Stabling Yard near Ali Town it was 59.5 per cent. Member National Assembly, Mehar Ishtiaq, Member Provincial Assembly, Chaudhary Shahbaz, Chief Engineer LDA, Asrar Saeed, Chief Engineer TEPA, Saif-ur-Rehman, General Manager NESPAK Salman Hafeez, Senior Officials of Punjab Mass Transit Authority, LESCO, PTCL, SUI GAS, Traffic Police and Railway, Chinese Contractor, CR-NOROINCO, Representatives of Chinese Engineering Consultant and Local Contractors of the project attended the meeting.
