Protest held against killing of FUUAST girls students

11 Feb, 2017

A number of students of the Federal Urdu University staged a protest on Friday, one day after a speeding passenger coach killed three girl students of the university near Bait-ul-Mukarram Mosque. The protesters, backed by organizations including Imamia Students Organisation and Pukhtun Students Federation, gathered outside the campus chanting slogans and blocking the University Road for hours.
The demonstrators later agreed to postpone their protest following assurances by provincial transport minister Syed Nasir Shah and Karachi's deputy mayor that the victims' families will receive compensations and the students' complaints and demands will be considered sympathetically.
