JICA to provide technical assistance to TEVTA

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is collaborating to provide technical assistance for establishing center of excellence in Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Institutes. Technical education system is being promoted by this initiative across the province of the Punjab. JICA will upgrade center of excellence at Govt. College of Technology Faisalabad and other 13 Govt. Colleges of Technologies across the province of Punjab up to 2019.
It was stated by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh Friday while addressing a meeting to review the progress of JICA projects here at TEVTA Secretariat.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that JICA trained our 46 Master Trainers in different sectors of Mechanical Technology including CNC Machine, Tig Mig Welding, Cad CAM Designing & Industrial Planning and Products. TEVTA is doing all efforts on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Cooperation of JICA will support to export trained manpower in the field of Mechanical Technology so that our skilled manpower may get better job opportunities.
Chairperson TEVTA further said that the basic purpose for establishing the center of excellence at GCT Faisalabad and up-gradation of 13 colleges is to provide trained manpower according to the needs of the industry. The main feature of the said project is to revise curriculum for mechanical technology, provision of equipment and training of Trainers (ToT).
