Over 0.5 million plants to be planted across Faisalabad district

More than five lac plants would be planted across the district as the tree plantation movement under Prime Minister's Green Pakistan Programme. Chairman District Council Ch. Zahid Nazir imagined tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at Govt. Technical High School for Boys Peoples Colony. Chief Executive Officer District Education Authority Dr Muzaffar Javed Iqbal Chishti, DOs Khalid Akhter, Mazhar Warraich, Naila Rohi, Principal Dr Muhammad Farooq, other officers of education department, teachers and students were also present on the occasion.
Expressing his views, Chairman District Council Ch. Zahid Nazir stressed upon the need of making the tree plantation campaign a success by ensuring full participation in this movement. He said that tree plantation campaign should not be taken as a tradition but it should be considered as national and moral obligations to promote the forestation for keeping the clean and pleasant environment. He urged upon the education, forest and other departments to utilise every kind of recourses for creating temptation among the citizens for tree planting during the campaign. He underlined the need of proper nourishment of the sapling planted during the campaign for achieving desired results.
The Chairman said that the target had been fixed to enroll the 125,000 children of school going age during the next academic session and same number of saplings should be planted in the schools of the district. CEO District Education Authority Dr Muzaffar Javed Iqbal Chishti ensured that the tree plantation campaign would be made successful in the district under education department and the proper care would be done to save the saplings planted during the campaign through effective monitoring.
