Officers association from Inland Revenue of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) observed a pen-down strike on Friday against the additional charge of secretary revenue division given to secretary finance division Tariq Bajwa.
According to the IRS officers, the chairman FBR is usually given the charge of Secretary Revenue Division. They termed the appointment of secretary finance division Tariq Bajwa as secretary revenue division as strange and unexpected, saying that this move was taken to stall the effort of reforms within FBR being undertaken by the senior leadership of IRS and customs through establishment of district and border offices and creating the writ of the department.
The officers vowed to take legal action against the said decision if the authority concerned did not revisit its decision to pacify the agitation among the IRS officers.
