President, PM & CoAS condemn Lahore blast

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain and Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa, Senator Raza Rabbani along with various ministers, political leaders and social figures have strongly condemned the terror blast outside Punjab Assembly on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam on Monday that left 16 persons martyred while dozens of others injured.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister House, PM Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack in the strongest of terms and urged the nation to not lose heart and continue their resolve over war on terror. He expressed deep sorrow over martyrdom of Chief Traffic Officer, Deputy Inspector General among seven precious lives in the blast.
"Both President and Prime Minister said such dastardly acts cannot shake the resolve of the nation," official media reported. The premier has directed to provide best medical facilities to the injured of the blast. In a statement President Mamnoon Hussain has strongly condemned the terrorist incident in Lahore and conveyed his condolences to the families of all those including police officers, who embraced martyrdom.
He said the nation was proud of all the country's security institutions including police which had offered historic sacrifices in the war against terrorism, a statement issued by the Aiwan-e-Sadr here said. Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday condemned the blast in Lahore which claimed several lives. The blast occurred at Chairing Cross of Lahore Mall Road. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief expressed grief over the loss of valuable lives and ordered local commanders to conduct rescue services at the spot and transfer the victims to nearby hospitals.
