'34 percent work of Ring Road completed'

Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA) Chairperson Abdullah Khan Sumbal has said that 34 percent construction work of Southern Loop-1 (SL-1) and Southern Loop-2 (SL-2) of southern-cum-western loop of Ring Road has been completed. He was talking to a delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Wednesday. Adrian Torres, Principal Finance Sector Specialist, Miss Sana Masood, Finance Sector and Miss Safia Shafiq were also present in the delegation. All directors of the LRRA also participated in the meeting.
He informed the delegation that contractor of SL-1 & 2, Frontier Work Organisation (FWO), is working on contract on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode on the basis of Build Operate and Transfer (BOT). He said contract of SL-3 is yet to be awarded on the PPP mode and 8 KM lengthy SL-3 would connect Adda Plot (Raiwind Road) to Multan Road.
The project of SL-3 will be completed in nine months. The delegation was briefed that advertisement to explore concerned parties would be given nationally and internationally as per rules and previous routine. He said the land acquisition for SL-3 is in progress while initial estimate of Rs 7.7 billion has been calculated for this purpose.
