Promising athlete Faris John of Govt College Peshawar recorded two gold medals and a bronze on the opening day of the University of Peshawar Inter-College Boys Athletic Championship, which got under way here at Hostel ground on Monday. Director General Sports University of Peshawar and former gold medallist athlete Bahre Karam was the chief guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the Championship in which athletes from all the affiliated colleges with University of Peshawar are taking part.
The final and prize distribution ceremony will be organised on Tuesday at 10.30 am with Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar will grace the occasion as chief guest and will give away trophies and cash prizes to the players. Faris John of Govt College Peshawar, who also grabbed three medals for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 1500m, 3000m and 5000m, claimed gold medal in 800m, Hilal Khan of Govt Degree College Hayatabad won silver medal and Roman of Govt College Peshawar secured bronze medal.
