Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 278,482 tonnes of cargo comprising 184,464 tonnes of import cargo and 94,018 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 184,464 tonnes comprised of 128,589 tonnes of containerised cargo; 23,456 tonnes of general cargo; 30,039 tonnes of bulk cargo: 13,310 tonnes of coal; 3,985 tonnes of soyabean meal; 12,744 tonnes of rock phosphate and 2,380 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 94,018 tonnes comprised of 72,903 tonnes of containerised cargo; 315 tonnes of general cargo and 20,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
There were thirteen ships namely Chastine Maersk, MSC Alice, Fowairet, OOCL Italy, Oriental Nadeshiko, Navig8 Gallantry, Penelope-L, U Noble, Spar Apus, Grand Race, Ping An Song, Heilan Brother and Heilan Song carrying containers, oil tankers, rice, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were ten vessels viz. MSC Alice, Milos, Prosper, APL Atlanta, Hyundai General, Arion, Girolando Express, Oriental Sakura, KSL Fuyang and Mandrin Ocean carrying containers, oil tanker, livestock and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Rio Cadiz and Al Masi carrying containers and rock phosphate respectively sailed out to sea on Monday.
There were four vessels viz. Express Black Sea, Taroko, Mid Falcon and Magic Seas carrying containers, chemical and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday while six vessels viz. KMTC Mumbai, Ever Divine, DL Violet, Mare Tracer, U Lucky and Rong Que Song carrying containers, white sprite, coal and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 146,038 tonnes includes 56,654 tonnes of diesel oil; 12,600 tonnes of palm oil; 11,640 tonnes of coal; 5,826 tonnes of chemical and 59,318 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,180 tonnes includes 42,180 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 5,342 containers comprising of 3,122 containers import and 2,220 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were two ships namely CV Express Kailash and CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MV Mid Falcon and MV SC Tian Jin carrying chemical are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Safmarine Ngami, CV MSC Valencia, CV Express Black Sea, MV Mid Falcon, MV SC Tian Jin, MV U Noble, MV Marco, MT FPMC Fortune and MT Bunga Angsana currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, chemical, coal, canola seeds, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV Al-Bahia, MV Chemstar Masa, MV Lumphini Park, MT Maria-III, MT Nordic Gas, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1 and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, chemical, phosphoric acid, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two vessels viz. CV Al-Bahia and MV Chemstar Masa carrying containers and chemical expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were six ships namely MV Chance, MV Gaschem Antartic, MT Bneider, MT Shalamar, MT Pacific Energy and MT Navig8 Aquamarine carrying soyabean seeds, chemical, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Monday.
