Property survey to be conducted soon: minister

Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that the property survey will be conducted across the province through geographical information system as well as door-to-door survey. This, he said, presiding over a meeting, here on Tuesday. Secretary ET&NC Abdul Haleem Shaikh also attended the meeting.
Mukesh said that Sukkur would be made a model city regarding property survey and after completion of Sukkur survey, it would be gradually extended all over Sindh. The Secretary Abdul Haleem Shaikh informed the meeting that a MoU would be signed between Excise and Taxation department and a well-reputed company in this regard very soon and the process was almost completed.
Minister said that a considerable time has passed but no property survey was done. He said that the proposed survey, using modern technology, would not only enable the department to get comprehensive data but it would also increase revenue in term of property tax. He asked the secretary Shaikh to get the concerned officers trained for the proposed property survey so that they could be able to know as how they could use modern technology for property survey.
