KAPCO posts Rs 1.85 billion profit

Kot Addu Power Company (KAPCO) has posted Rs 1.853 billion as profit after tax in the quarter ended December 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 2.223 billion earned in the corresponding quarter in 2015. The company's earning per share of the company stood at Rs 2.11 in this quarter against Rs 2.53 in the same quarter a year back. The board of directors of the company in a meeting held on Tuesday at Islamabad recommended an interim cash dividend for the quarter at Rs 4.30 per share ie 43 percent.
According to financial results sent to Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs 15.191 billion in this quarter against Rs 12.446 billion in the same quarter a year back while cost of sales increased to Rs 12.571 billion against Rs 9.174 billion.
The company's profit before taxation stood at Rs 2.722 billion in this quarter against Rs 3.303 billion earned in the same quarter in 2015. The company's profit after tax stood at Rs 4.171 billion translating earning per share of Rs 4.74 in the 6 month period ended December 31, 2016 as compared to PAT of Rs 4.330 billion with EPS of Rs 4.92 in the same period in 2015.
