24 Feb, 2017

The spokesmen of United Business Group (UBG), Gulzar Feroz, Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Akram Rajpoot and Dr Shahzad have said that the interests of local investors must be protected in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). They said that CPEC is the best option for the revival of Pakistan's economy and accelerated growth. They said that it is undoubtedly an important initiative which can change the regional development scenario in favour of Pakistan.
They said that the successful implementation of these projects will be a game-changer for the people of Pakistan in terms of new economic opportunities leading to higher incomes and significant improvement in the living standard. They added that investment on the corridor will transform Pakistan into a regional economic hub and attract investment not only from China but other parts of the world as well.
They said CPEC has a great potential to jumpstart Pakistan's economy and leapfrog it in many places in front of its competitors. In fact, if sensibly utilised, it will provide Pakistan with an exceptional opportunity to make itself count a developed nation. They said the travel time and costs of exportable goods from upcountry to ports will be greatly reduced.
