Terrorists cannot shatter determination of nation: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, while condemning the explosion in the Defense area of Lahore, said the whole nation is united against terrorism and terrorists cannot shatter determination of the nation through such coward acts. Ordering investigation into the explosion, he sought a report from the Inspector General Police and directed him to arrest those involved in the incident. He said the heartless beasts who have killed the innocent people will never be able to escape punishment and those who have targeted the innocent people deserve no leniency and they will get exemplary punishment.
Expressing his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the loss of lives, Shahbaz directed the health authorities to provide the best medical treatment to the injured persons. He also directed the senior officers of the health department to personally monitor the medical facilities provided to the injured persons. "All sympathies of the Punjab government are with the bereaved families and we all equally share their grief and shock."
Moreover, after the blast, emergency was declared in the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and other hospitals of the provincial metropolis. However, most of the injured were brought to the LGH and a private hospital of Defence.
The Punjab Minister for Specialised Health and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique also rushed to the LGH and supervised relief and emergency work. Talking to reporters, Salman said that senior and young doctors, paramedical staff and other support staff are available in the hospital and taking care of injured out of whom conditions of two is critical. He said four dead bodies and 15 injured were received in the LGH so far, while some injured were shifted to National Defence Hospital.
He also enquired after the health of injured and prayed for their early recovery. He asked the doctors and paramedical staff to provide best treatment facilities to the injured.
Provincial Minister for Primary & Secondary Health Kh. Imran Nazir also arrived and reviewed the situation. Doctors and nurses of Lahore General Hospital provided immediate medical facilities to injured persons.
Salman also visited National Hospital Defense and inquired after the injured of the bomb blast. He also donated blood on this occasion. The PML-N senior leader Muhammad Pervaiz Malik also visited the Lahore General Hospital to enquire after the health of injured. Talking to media, Malik said the government is determined to maintain law & order and provide security to people being its prime responsibility. "NACTA has been upgraded, rangers have been called and there is close co-ordination with all agencies and with the help of people, we would defeat the terrorists," he said. After the incident, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah also chaired a high level meeting which reviewed the law & order situation. In the meeting, Defence block incident was discussed in detail and it was decided to adopt stringent measures in Lahore. PML-N leader Hams Shahbaz MNA also expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over blast in Defense and condolences with the bereaved families of those died in the blast.
He prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
