Next three decades decisive for education: VC

Vice chancellor of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Dr Sohail Naqvi has said that next three decades will be decisive for education in Pakistan. He expressed these views at a ceremony held to mark the LUMS three decades of excellence at the Convention Centre of Golf Club, the other night where speakers renewed their pledge to take the university to new heights of glory. Educationists, businessmen, LUMS' alumni and members of the civil society attended the ceremony.
"LUMS has worked to achieve excellence that monumentally benefits our country and put us on the world map," said LUMS vice chancellor eyeing next three decades which he said would be decisive for education in Pakistan. He said LUMS was looking forward to years of limitless possibilities, impressive and effective research and revolutions in the fields ranging from biology to electronics and to achieve great success in business, law and public policy.
He expressed hope that this would Pakistan a key player internationally and a leader in the region. He said that a well-rounded educational institution with state of the art facilities nurturing the best minds of today is necessary for a strong and prosperous tomorrow. He hoped that business leaders will invest in the vision for a more prosperous Pakistan and continue to support LUMS. Faculty member Abdul Razzak Dawood and others also spoke.
