On the auspicious occasion of Pakistan's hosting of the 13th Summit of the Economic Co-operation Organisation (ECO), I would like to convey my warmest greetings and felicitations to distinguished leaders and delegates for their participation in the Summit. It is gratifying that we are moving steadily towards the goals and objectives that we have set for the organisation.
As a founding member, Pakistan remains committed to the principles of the ECO Charter. It represents our collective resolve for the economic development of the region and the betterment of the living conditions of our peoples.
ECO is developing institutional linkages with important regional organisations. As we rejoice at the progress made by the Organisation since its inception, we still have much work to do to fully realise our economic integration and prosperity in the region. This is a goal worth pursuing with single-minded determination. I would like to reiterate Pakistan's continued commitment to work closely with ECO member states to further strengthen ECO as a regional organisation. Together shall we pursue its objectives to the best advantage of our peoples.
