CM KP approves flyover to link Motorway with GT Road

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak in principle approved Zakori Flyover-II connecting Motorway to G.T Road at Peshawar entrance, Warsak, Nasir Bagh and Pajaggi Flyover, Budhni Pull in Peshawar and Jawar Chowk Flyover and Katlang flyover in Mardan directing the concerned quarters to follow the already available pattern and move a summary for formal approval.
The summary should cover the rates and costs of these projects and the summary should have the most suitable solution. The summary he added would lead to a time bound agreement with the NLC for completion of these projects within the shortest possible time. He was presiding over a high level meeting at Chief Minister Secretariat, Peshawar. Provincial Minister for Education and Energy, Mohammad Atif Khan, Advisor to Chief Minister on C&W Akbar Ayub, Administrative Secretaries, Commissioner Peshawar, Representatives of NLC and others attended.
The participants had detailed deliberation on the development schemes, the Provincial Government was launching through NLC. It had the mode of construction, the possible constraints and the solution to the smooth launch, implementation and the time tagged completion of these schemes.
The meeting took a number of decisions and the Chief Minister directed that a joint summary should be initiated by C&W and PDA covering all the "dos and don'ts" and the timely initiation and completion of these projects. The Chief Minister also directed for the early completion of beautification plans of Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi and all Districts and the resources allocated must be used transparently. The developmental strategy for all the Districts should be fast tracked and visible too that would shape up the overall beautification of any given district, he added.
Pervez Khattak said he had given Rs 2200 million for the reconstruction of Peshawar City roads and pavements in addition to the allocation for the beautification of Peshawar directing the relevant quarters to expedite the pace of work and utilize resources transparently.
The meeting was told that almost all the roads in university town and Hayatabad had already been completed. However, the chief Minister directed to immediately start the process of beautification on the railway track in university town. The relevant department should remove all the bottlenecks as it was part of the overall beautification initiative of Peshawar City, he added. Pervez Khattak inquired about the time line given under the Peshawar rapid bus transit Project and reviewed the progress. He directed that tenders must be floated for all the three packages of the projects by 30th of April 2017.
