On Thursday, at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,111. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 5.83 billion and the number of lots traded was 16,160. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 2.79 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.63 billion, WTI crude oil PKR 971.26 million, silver PKR 379.69 million, copper PKR 41.74 million and Brent crude oil PKR 7.36 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, 133 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 54.21 million were also traded.
