Compensation for fishermen jailed in India proposed

Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani has said that a summary has been moved to the Chief Minister Sindh for consideration to compensate and to rehabilitate the fishermen prisoned in India till their release by providing Rs 10,000/- per month which will be approved hopefully. Receiving 18 fishermen confined in Jail custody at India since May 2016 at Karachi Cantt Station who arrived here through Karachi Express, he said that the Sindh Government has always striving hard for taking positive steps for the betterment of Fishermen at every level.
Malkani said we welcome our brother fishermen, they will meet with their families after 6 moths by the effort of government of Pakistan on the request of government of Sindh While talking to media, he thanked the federal government and hoped that remaining fishermen will be released very soon through negotiation between the Pakistan and Indian Governments in the matter.
He said that India should show positive response as Pakistan have released more than 200 Indian fishermen despite that our 38(Pakistani) fishermen have been released till today but still more than 150 are remaining in Indian jails, they would also be released through efforts being taken by the federal government on the request of Sindh. Released fishermen also thanked the both Sindh and federal governments for taking positive efforts for their release and make possible to meet with their family members today. Fisheries Department Sindh also arranged the transport and other facilities to the released fishermen.
