Jirga demands accountability in uplift projects

Deploring the alleged corruption in development projects, the Mehsud tribal Jirga on Sunday demanded of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure accountability and transparency in the development projects to curb the menace of corruption. Mehsud tribal elders held a jirga under the aegis of Mehsud Development jirga in Dera Ismail Khan. Large number of Mehsud tribe elders participated in the jirga. The jirga discussed the problems being faced by the tribal people.
Talking on the occasion, head of the jirga Javed Shabikhel told media persons that the jirga appealed the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to end corruption from their area and ensure transparency and accountability.
Addressing the jirga, tribal elders said that standing for rights is their responsibility. They demanded transparency and accountability in the development projects of the area.
The tribal elders said that tribal youths would get employment opportunities and the area would develop if the menace of corruption was eliminated from South Waziristan Agency.
