CDWP approves 17 projects worth Rs 99.4 billion

Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved 17 projects at the cost of Rs 99.4 billion, including five projects at the cost of Rs 93 billion, which were referred to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). The CDWP approved various significant projects of transport and communication sector, energy, water resources, physical planning and agriculture & food.
The CDWP meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal and was attended by senior officers of the provincial governments and ministries concerned. The projects including Gwadar-Nawab Shah LNG Terminal and Pipeline Project of Rs 36 billion, dualisation and improvement of Pindigheb-Kohat Road at a cost of Rs 19.9 billion, double railways track from Khanewal to Raiwind at the cost of Rs 14 billion, and Metro Bus Service form Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad International Airport at cost of Rs 16.8 billion were sent to ECNEC for final approval.
Prime Minister''s Programme for construction of 46 new hospitals across Pakistan was also approved with Rs 1.3 billion. In addition, it approved a position paper of Rs 10.3 billion and cleared 9 concept clearance proposal of Rs 7.9 billion.
