Hindu community celebrates Holi

As elsewhere, the Hindu community in the metropolis on Sunday celebrated Holi, the festival of colours. The event began on Sunday evening and will continue till the evening of Monday. Holi signifies the victory of good over evil and also heralds the advent of spring.
In Karachi, the main Holi gatherings were held at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Panmukhi Hanuman Temple and Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir besides community centres.
Sweets were also distributed besides, the holdings of feasts at homes. Sprays of colours are also part of the Holi festivities. Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair attended the Holi celebrations at the Governor House Staff Colony.
The event was organised by the Hindu employees of the Governor House. On the occasion, the Governor also extended felicitations to the members of the Hindu community on the occasion of Holi.
