PESCO team arrests 152 more power pilferers

Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) Surveillance team raided in different areas of Peshawar Circle and nabbed 152 more power pilferers. On the directives of the Chief Executive, PESCO Engineer Shabir Ahmad, drive against illegal use of electricity has been accelerated throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In this connection PESCO Surveillance team Wapda House conducted raids in different areas of Peshawar Circle and nabbed 113 more power pilferers. During checking in the areas of Chamkani, Dabgari, Gulbahar and Daudzai Sub-Divisions of Peshawar, 113 domestic and commercial connections were caught for illegal use of electricity.
Furthermore, 39 domestic and commercial connections involved in power theft were also removed in the areas of urban and Cantonment sub-divisions of Bannu Circle. A spokesman of PESCO has said that drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks will continue and warned power pilferers to stop power pilferage in the larger interest of the nation.
Meanwhile, Atif Jawad, Assistant Manager has been posted as Staff Officer of Chief Executive PESCO for Information Technology, Automated Meter Reading (photo meter reading) and other assigned duties, said a notification issued here on Monday. The main purpose to post Atif Jawad as Staff Officer to CEO on IT matters is to boost up Photo Meter Reading process by 100 percent in order to redress public complaints of overbilling.
The CEO PESCO Engineer Shabir Ahmad has already issued instructions to field formations for 100% implementation of Photo Meter Reading and he himself is monitoring the whole process on daily basis, and is supervising this process for early implementation.
