Relatives of slain PPP leader Babar Sohail Butt lodged an FIR against three persons including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sohail Shaukat Butt Monday. Babar Sohail Butt was critically injured by gunmen who barged into his house late Sunday night. Babar succumbed to his injuries on his way to the Services Hospital. Security guard of the PPP leader was also amongst the suspects.
Party sources said Babar was likely to be named as General Secretary for the PPP Lahore division. Meanwhile, the provincial leadership of the party has criticized the Punjab government for the killing of its leader, saying that the Punjab government was directly responsible to attack on Shaukat Basra in Haroonabad and killing of Babar Sohail Butt in Lahore. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
