Former Fata parliamentarian from Kurram Agency, Munir Khan Orakzai has demanded of the federal government and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics to allocate column in the census form for Tribal Displaced Persons (TDPs), staying in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing at press conference at press club here on Friday, he said there was no allocation of special column for IDPs from tribal region, which took temporarily shelter in various parts of the province. Accompanied by former president of Fata Lawyers Forum, Karim Mehsud, president of Fata Students Organisation (FSO), Shaukat Aziz, Senior Advisor, Haleem Orakzai, he said that it was needed that Pakistan Bureau of Statistics to allocate separate form or column for TDPs after announcement of holding the housing and population census in the country.
Munir Orakzai said the census is being conducted after hiatus of 19 years in the country, and experienced officials and staffs of department concerned mostly retired, so it could be challenging for the inexperienced and new staffs to conduct the whole process in stipulated period. Karim Mehsud said as per reports of political administrations of various tribal agencies, most of the tribal families took temporarily shelter in settled and far-flung areas of the province due to army operation against terrorists.
