CPEC to be part of Boao's World Forum's agenda: spokesman

Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) is likely to be major focus area of the 2017 Boao Forum for Asia annual conference to be held from March 23 to 26 in South China's Hainan province. Participants from around the World including Pakistan discuss Asia's future as a "Globalisation and free trade: The Asia perspectives".
A spokesman of the Forum told INP here on Tuesday that the four-day event will witness more than 44 formal discussions on One Belt One Road (OBOR), education, finance , manufacturing, industrial revolution and other socio-economic issues of the regional interest.
Since the OBOR is the major foreign policy initiative of the President of China Xi Jinping, this subject matter will be a centre of focus at the gathering. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a flagship project of OBOR which will also be a focus of talks in the sessions regarding Belt and Road. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz will participate in different sessions to give his value able output on free trade and economic liberalization.
Government leaders, corporate executives and opinion leaders from both the media and academic world are participating in the Forum to discuss the most relevant issues in Asia, emerging economies and the world in general. The BFA, a nongovernmental and non-profit international organisation, has been held annually since 2002 at its permanent site in Boao. A high-end dialogue platform, it is dedicated to promoting common development through regional integration of the Asian economy. The forum has seen its world-wide influence increase, as in addition to regional topics it discusses global issues such as Internet management and financial reform.
