Samnabad hospital to have 250 beds by end-June

The Development Projects of extension of Govt. General Hospital Samnabad from 50 to 250 beds would be completed by the end of June of current year for providing advanced and ample medical services to the patients near their door steps. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani while inspecting the pace of construction work of extension block of Govt. General Hospital Samnabad.
MS Dr Khalid Fakhar, DDHO Dr Asfand Yar, XEN Building Tahir Anjum, SDO Building Sara Qamar and other officers were also present on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner took a round of different sections of the building under construction and directed to complete the remaining work speedily and said that all medical, diagnostic and administrative requirements should be taken care of in this building. He stressed upon making departmental arrangements in advance for getting the medical machinery and equipments in extension block and directed for making the lifts functional by the end of April. He directed for preparing revised estimate for the installation of incinerator, CT scan and laundry.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner checked the emergency ward, diagnostic laboratory, X-rays and Ultrasound Units and other sections in Govt. General Hospital Samnabad. He also interacted with the patients and inquired about the performance of the hospital. The Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital management for setting up additional counters of issuance of medical examination slips, medical examination and provision of medicines to the patients to avoid delay in provision of medical facilities. MS Dr Khalid Fakhar apprised the DC of the performance of the hospital and told that more than two thousand patients came daily in outdoor department and they were providing even costly medicines free.
