Pakistan Day celebrated in KP, Fata

Like other parts of the country Pakistan Day was celebrated with traditional zeal and national enthusiasm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA). Special prayers were offered in the provincial capital's mosques for peace and prosperity in the country. In this connection, special ceremonies were held across KP, the tribal areas to mark Pakistan Day.
The day begun with 21 gun salute in Peshawar. The people renewed their pledge to work hard in their respective fields for progress, peace and prosperity of the country and give every sacrifice for protection of the motherland. The people also paid glowing tributes to the unmatched sacrifices of heroes of the struggle of independence and offered special prayers for the security and martyrs of the security forces.
In addition to different functions at government level, the civil society and educational organizations also arranged special programmes in connection with the day. Meanwhile, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) staged a rally to mark the Pakistan Day. KP Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan and others led the rally.
