The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA-Punjab) has urged the government not to purchase wheat in coming procurement season with seven percent foreign matter as the millers will not buy any such wheat. It said if the government is giving highest rates of wheat to our growers as compared to international market then why it's buying wheat with an adulteration of foreign matters.
While talking to journalists at the PFMA office here Friday, the flour millers leaders Riaz Ullah Khan, Asim Raza Ahmad and others said that whenever government buy wheat they allow seven percent foreign matter in it, including dust and others. They claimed that the millers had to pay an additional 227.50 on each bag of 100 kilograms because of the adulteration of these foreign matters. 'If the flour millers would buy wheat the adulterated wheat then the burden would consequently pass on to the consumers. The government should take notice of it so as to save the consumers from any unjustifiable financial burden,' they concluded.
