Swat take Inter-District U-23 Games trophy

Swat clinched the trophy after securing 125 points in the Swat Region Inter-District Boys Under-23 Games, which concluded at Makan Bagh Sports Complex Swat on Friday. Member Provincial Assembly Fazale Hakeem was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Operation Tariq Mehmood, Director Development Syed Saqlain Shah, District Sports Officers Nimat Ullah Khan Marwat (Swat), Zakir Khan (Nowshera), Safqat Ullah (Bannu), Member PHF Congress Malik Wadan, officials, players and good number of spectators were also present.
The players of Swat gave stunning performances by grabbed first position in 11 different events out of total 15 disciplines and got runners-up position in three different events. Overall Swat won 11 gold and three silver medals by securing 125 points, followed by Buner with two gold medal and eight silver medal recorded 76 points while Dir Upper took third position with 27 points by winning tug of war and basketball and got third position in athletics. District Swat won first position in squash, tennis, wrestling, athletics, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, gymnastic, karate, judo, and football while remained runners-up in kabaddi, basketball and hockey. Buner got first position in hockey and kabaddi while remained runners-up in squash, tennis, badminton, table tennis, athletics, volleyball, gymnastics and judo. Earlier, MPA Fazle Hakeem formally inaugurated the Games in a colourful ceremony attended by hundreds and thousands of spectators. A total of 800 players from Swat, Buner, Dir Upper, Shangla and District Chitral took part.
