05 Apr, 2017

The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notices to Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination, and all the provincial finance ministers over failure to implement the court directives to regulate service structure of Lady Health Workers in the country.
Appearing before a two-member bench of Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Umer Atta Bandial in person to plead in contempt application against the respondents, President of All Pakistan Ladies Health Workers Welfare Association Bushra Arian contended that federal and provincial government failed to implement the apex court orders of March 07,2013, and September 22,2015 regarding making service structure and payment of outstanding salaries from the last four months.
Bushra urged the bench to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents over failure to implement the court directives in the matter in letter and spirit to which Justice Gulzar Ahmed observed as to why the court orders were not obeyed. After a brief hearing of the contempt plea, the bench issued notices to the respondents and adjourned the hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
