Seafood export surges 13 percent

Pakistan's seafood export surged by 13 percent to $239.798 million in July-Feb 2017, according to the official figures. Rise in the seafood export now stands at $27.577 million in July-Feb 2017 from $212.221 million in July-Feb 2016, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.
Seafood export volume grew by 10 percent or 7657 metric tons to 87,997 metric tons in July-Feb 2017 from 80,340 metric tons in July-Feb 2016. The country's fisheries export mounted by 34 percent or $7.394 million to $29.135 million in Feb 2017 from $21.741 million in Feb 2016. In term of volume, seafood export shot up by 28.38 percent or 2417 metric tons to 10,935 metric tons in Feb 2017 from 8,518 metric tons in Feb 2016.
