PIA recovers 15kg heroin from its parked aircraft

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Tuesday claimed to have recovered huge quantity of heroin worth millions of rupees from its B-777 aircraft, parked at the hangar in Karachi for C-check. "PIA's security department with the assistance of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) have recovered 15 kilogram of heroin worth millions of rupees from its B-777 aircraft which was at the hangar in Karachi for C-check," said the PIA spokesman, adding that the matter is being investigated by all concerned agencies.
According to the PIA officials, the said aircraft was under C-check for last two weeks. They said it took its last flight from Medina to Karachi and since then, it was parked at the hanger. Replying to a question, sources said that they had no information about the sector on which this aircraft would be operated after maintenance but they believed that the persons involved in the smuggling of contraband heroin had complete information about its future operations.
