While talking to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) senior vice president Amjad Ali Jawa here on Thursday, he said that technological advancement would certainly bring betterment in all affairs.
The storage facilities are also being upgraded, he said. He asked the Lahore Chamber to submit its suggestions in this regard. Amjad Ali Jawa asked the NLC Director to extend the benefit of oil price reduction in the international market through cut in its fares. Because of high weigh charges, businessmen are working with other companies. The NLC storage rates which are high must be brought down, he opined.
Jawa said that there must be different rates for the consignments lying in sheds, open area and containers. The port authorities should avoid scanning of goods more than one times which is not only wastage of time but also add to the cost of business, he added.
