PESCO recovery is 91 percent, line losses cut by 2 percent: BoD told

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PESCO Engineer Shabir Ahmad has said that the recovery of the power distribution company is 91pc while line losses have been reduced by 2pc, adding that 100pc implementation of the Photo Meter Reading will redress the complaints of over-billing and wrong reading. He was giving presentation to 115th meeting of the Board of Directors (BoD) of PESCO, which met here at WAPDA House, Peshawar with chairman, BoD, PESCO Nawabzada Arsala Khan Hoti in the chair.
The Chief Executive Officer said that there are 95 grid stations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wherein 235 power transformers have been installed and electricity is being supplied to the consumers through 915 11 KV feeders.44602 lines while 70798 distribution transformers have also been installed to supply electricity to the consumers.
He vowed that he will make all-out efforts for the betterment of the company. He said PESCO employees have to be efficient in resolving consumers' complaints. BoD extended its full support to PESCO Management in this regard. The BoD accorded approval for authorization of Chief Executive Officer PESCO for signing project agreement on behalf of the power company with Asian Development Bank for 2nd power distribution enhancement Investment program-11 Tranche-I.
The BoD approved commendation certificates and cash awards to the Project Management Unit (PMU) Officers/Officials on completion of 132 KV double circuit Sheikh Muhammadi- Hayatabad Transmission Line, issuance of NOC in respect of Hydro Power Projects located in AJK, purchase of 132 KV double circuit towers were also approved.
The BoD also directed to prepare a comprehensive SOP for HT/LT proposals. Similarly, BoD approved PC-1 for PSDP, PSDP program 2015-16 and PM Global SDGs Achievement Programme.
A number of other managerial and administrative matters on the agenda were also approved. Board Members including Chief Executive Officer, PESCO Shabir Ahmad, Zulfiqar Ahmad, Sardar Muhammad Tariq, Tahir Bin Yamin, Nasir Khan Musa Zai, Ahmad Dildar, Muhammad Naeem Khan, General Manager (Technical) Hassan Fazil, Chief Engineer (Planning) Muhammad Iqbal Marwat, Chief Engineer (PMU) Dr Muhammad Amjad, Chief Engineer Mian Muhammad Hamid, Director General (PR) Shaukat Afzal, Mian Haleem, Director General (HR) Muhammad Saleem Jahangir, Director (MM) Altaf Ahmad and Secretary Board Khurshid Ahmad Orakzai, attended the meeting.
