Hate speech case: ATC issues arrest warrants of Sattar, others

07 Apr, 2017

An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday issued arrest warrants for Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar and other fugitives. The arrest warrants have been issued in case pertaining to the provocative speech of MQM founder Altaf Hussain, inciting them to attack the media houses on August 22.
The court expressed anger, saying that Farooq Sattar comes on TV everyday but does not meet the police. The court also summoned Malir SSP Rao Anwar in the next hearing. The investigations of three cases regarding the attack on media houses were handed over to Malir SSP Rao Anwar. MQM had detached itself from founder Altaf Hussain using the 'minus-one' formula after he incited the party workers against the military establishment and security forces and to attack the media houses in his August 22 speech.
