Celebrity sports couple, Shoaib Malik and Sania Malik, has welcomed their first baby on Tuesday, as the former Pakistan cricket captain announced the news on his Twitter.

“Excited to announce: It's a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and prayers, we are humbled. #BabyMirzaMalik," Shoaib Malik wrote.

Filmmaker Farah Khan was among the first ones to break the news on Instagram. She wrote, “Finally! Best news in a long time!! Congratulations”. Farah are among the few close friends of Sania.

Shoaib's manager and agent, Ameem Haq, tweeted that the Pakistani cricketer was over the moon to welcome their first child.

The cricketer married Indian tennis star Sania in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony on April 12, 2010.
