Led by Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q), the four-party alliance of opposition parties on Sunday demanded resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to meet the ends of justice after judgment of the Supreme Court in Panama case.
A meeting of the 4-party alliance was held here on Sunday which was attended by the representatives of Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Sunni Ittehad Council and Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen. Among others, the meeting was attended by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Hamid Raza, Raja Nasir Abbas, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, S M Zafar, Kamil Ali Agha, Dr Khalid Ranjha, Mian Munir and Basharat Raja.
The meeting decided to form a grand alliance of opposition parties on Panama issue. A co-ordination committee comprising representatives of the four-party alliance was also formed to contact the like-minded parties.
In this regard, the leadership of the alliance also held talks with Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amir Siraj-ul-Haq who also visited the residence of PML-Q Chief.
A declaration issued after the meeting of four-party alliance says that the Prime Minister Sharif has become accused after the judgment of Panama case; hence, he (PM) must quit his office so that requirements of justice could be filled.
The alliance also announced full support to lawyers on the demand of PM resignation. It also demanded of making JIT report public after every fortnight. It further demanded to make public LHC Judge Justice Baqar Najfi's report on Model Town incident.
