ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan government has finalized a plan to launch mobile medical services in rural areas of the province to provide quality medical facilities to people of far flung areas at their doorstep, Provincial Minister for Health, Mir Naseeb Ullah Marri said Wednesday.
Talking to APP, he said the mobile medical units would be sent in areas preferably, where the services of hospital are not available. For providing cheap medical facilities in the province, it is necessary to provide health facilities to its citizens, he said. Health is important sector of any society, he said adding that unfortunately in Balochistan people were facing several problems. The government is planning to revamp the huge health sector on priority basis.
The minister said that the government was bringing proper management system and providing all required equipments to hospitals in the province. He said the government was modernizing health sector to resolve the difficulties being faced by public specially the poor patients in hospitals.
The Minister said the government is planning to recruit 700 trained doctors and paramedical staff in various hospitals to overcome dearth of medical staff.
Replying to a question, he said we are heading to make polio free Balochistan and soon the province would be made polio free.
Commenting on the issue of absenteeism of medical staff, he said “we have formed a committee to visit the hospitals to ensure round the clock availability of skilled staff to the patients”.
He said we are ensuring the availability of medicines, modern surgical equipments for the poor patients and investing more money in the sector to solve the shortage of required drugs in government hospitals. He said on cleaning issue in hospitals, we are taking measures to ensure discipline and cleaning of hospitals to provide clean environment to patients and their attendants.
