The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Muhammad Murad Arshad, Director of Glubeco (pvt) Company, in renowned 'DHA City Housing Society Case'. His arrest would prove a development towards proper resolution of the said Rs 15.6 billion scam in which more than 10,500 effectees are eyeing for proper delivery of their plots or return of their amounts.
The NAB is determined to resolve every case on priority by keeping 'merit' in view and by following the clear instructions from Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry of adopting 'zero tolerance policy' against corruption. Murad Arshad's arrest is expected to be helpful in towing the case towards solution, sources in NAB, said.
Murad Arshad was one among the major signatories of the controversial agreement between DHA administration and Glubeco (pvt) company, whereas NAB Lahore has already arrested Hammad Arshad who was also Director of the same company. Around 10,500 people applied for provision of plots and submitted a hefty amount of more than Rs 15.6 billion.
Two accused, in the same case, namely Kamran Kayani and Tariq Siddique have already been declared as "proclaimed offender" by courts who opted for self-exile and NAB Lahore had earlier approached the interior ministry for their arrest through Interpol which is facing unjustifiable delay at the latter's end. The NAB would produce the accused Muhammad Murad Arshad before the accountability court on Thursday for seeking of his physical remand.
