In a first, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has claimed that he thinks smartphone manufacturer Apple’s products don’t ‘blow people’s minds’ any longer.
In a recent interview with Recode, billionaire Musk shared his thoughts about his company Tesla’s Silicon Valley neighbor Apple. Though Musk, who himself is an iPhone user, admitted Apple is making great phones, he also mentioned that its products aren’t as mind blowing as before.
“I still use an iPhone and everything. But Apple used to really bring out products that would blow people’s minds, you know? And [they] still make great products, but there’s less of that,” Musk mentioned.

Musk explained how Tesla aims to make a car that makes people really happy. Comparing it to Apple, Musk stated, “There’s not many products you can buy that really make you happier. And so Apple did that for a long time. I still think, obviously, that Apple makes great phones.”
According to Daily Mail, Musk said that Apple’s iPhone do not draw as much consumer attention as they used to. However, Musk compared that to his Tesla saying he wants to make ‘heart-stopping’ products.
“There’s less of that. I don’t think people are necessarily running to the store for the iPhone 11. But I think with Tesla, we really want to make products that people just love, that are heart-stopping.”
According to Business Insider, this is not the first time Musk has commented about Apple. In the past Musk had called Apple a ‘Tesla graveyard’ suggesting that employees who couldn’t hack it at his company went to work at Apple.
