ETPB's ex-vice chairman held in Rs 1870 million fraud case

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, ex vice-chairman, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) for charges of being part of financial embezzlement worth Rs 1870 million through MS High Links (Pvt) Ltd. The accused Muhammad Ali was employed in ETPB during the said scam as vice chairman in BS-20 and is said to be the right hand of Asif Hashmi. An amount of Rs 200 million were embezzled under his tenure as vice-chairman and the accused played an important role in the said scam. NAB Lahore arrested him from Askari-X.
The co-accused Chaudhry Muhammad Imran holds 5 percent shares of MS High Links (Pvt) Ltd, the private company which seized functioning after getting huge amounts from the investors. He was arrested from Shalimar Town, Lahore and the same was required by NAB Lahore. NAB Lahore after presenting both accused Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Imran before Accountability Court has acquired 12-day physical remand for further interrogation.
