Sindh University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat on Tuesday has demanded from the federal government of allocating Rs 400 million in the new fiscal year 2017-18 in order to revamp the 1960 infrastructure of the university into its latest modern version. He said that the financial position of Sindh University was better but it had a dire need of special financial grant for its development, progress and advancement.
He was talking to the directors of various centres and chairpersons of different departments during his visit to the campus. The Vice Chancellor said that efforts to improve overall situation of the campus were being vigorously pursued to bring about a significant and positive change in the varsity's affairs and functioning.
He further said that during his recent visit to Oxford University, United Kingdom, he came to learn that the Sindhi scholar like Allama I.I. Kazi, the founder vice chancellor of Sindh University had also served as a faculty at the Oxford in 1931. The Vice Chancellor said that he was not satisfied by the performance of the SU campuses working in Dadu, Naushehro Feroze, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Badin, explaining that he had advised to pro vice chancellors of all SU campuses to stay at their campus sites all days of the week instead of staying here on the main campus.
