Upper Sindh on Friday simmered with maximum 49 degrees Celsius as the Met Office forecasts mainly hot and dry for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. Temperature in Dadu and Larkana districts touched maximum 49 degrees Celsius, each, Sibbi, Shaheed Benazirabad and Moenjodaro 48 each, and Jacobabad, Sukkur, Padidan and Sukrand 47 each during the day.
It said that thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan, D G Khan, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Lahore and Gujranwala Divisions, besides Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.
