National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) is striving day and night to maintain discipline on national highways & motorways, says a press release issued here on Friday. Efficient public service delivery and rule of law are NH&MP's hallmark. NH&MP officers render prompt assistance to road users and also ensure timely help to commuters in distress.
In the month of May 2017, total numbers of helps provided to road users are 28,591 and 416,998 commuters were briefed about road safety measures like seatbelt, lane discipline and proper use of indicator. Traffic education is a very important aspect, which has been undertaken by our officers. Regular lectures of Road Safety in Schools, Colleges, Institutions, universities, Factories and Bus Addas all over the country have been imparted on traffic education & traffic discipline. Radio programmes, Workshops, Seminars on road safety are being regularly organized.
These workshops and seminars were held in all the major cities to create awareness amongst the people regarding road safety. Fully equipped Mobile Education Vans have also been introduced for providing traffic education. five road safety walks, seven workshops and 24 seminars were conducted on road safety in different zones of NH&MP. In order to control road accidents and maintain traffic discipline, National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has conducted campaigns about encroachment, Lane and line discipline, driving in summer in this fortnightly.-PR
