Punjab Assembly passes resolution to curb activities of quacks

Punjab Assembly in a Private Members Day on Tuesday passed a resolution during the session which asked authorities to curb activities of quacks in the province. Legislator who moved the resolution demanded of the government to close clinics of these quacks promptly so they should not play with lives of people. Legislator Nighat Shaikh in her resolution passed on the occasion asked authorities to construct overhead bridge between Circular Medicine Market and Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur for the benefit of patients.
Another resolution by MPA Muhammad Sibtain demanded to fix daily wages of labour at Rs 1,000 per day and Rs 25,000 per month as monthly wages. The resolution was kept in pending. Another resolution by a legislator asked for raise in income tax limit of agriculturists to Rs 500,000 was kept in pending on the occasion. On query period on forestry, wildlife and fisheries parliamentary secretary told that Punjab Government in order to develop agricultural sector passed Irrigation & Drainage Authority Act 1997 in provincial assembly on June 27, 1997. He averred that a number of measures to improve agriculture in the province were taken under PIDA (Punjab Irrigation & Drainage Authority Act 1997).
