Attack on police station: Charges framed against Zulfiqar Mirza

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday framed charges against 54 suspects including former Home Minister Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza in four cases including attack on police station in Badin. The court summoned the witnesses on July 11 after suspects denied the charges. Zulfiqar Mirza was appeared in the court along with other suspects during the hearing of the case by the ATC.
The cases registered against Mirza and others on the charges of rioting, attack and terrorism. It may be mentioned here that Zulfiqar Mirza, a dissident leader of Pakistan Peoples Party and former Home Minister Sindh, had attacked a police station in Badin along with his colleagues on May 3, 2015 to get his supporters freed. Local Police has registered the case against him and several others.
Meanwhile, twenty five aides of Dr Zulfiqar Mirza have filed petition in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) while the court issued notice to government lawyers to submit reply till July 13. Jailed 25 aides filed plea seeking bail amid hearing of the case imposed on Dr Zulfiqar Mirza in the ATC Karachi. The arrested persons include Nawaz Ali Jatoi, Hashmi, Khuda Bux and other persons.
